New partnership: Habitania Institute

Habitania Institute identifies circular opportunities and designs circular business models that generate business value, positively impacting society and the environment. The consultancy is committed to supporting SMEs in scaling up their core business to become competitive in the market and providing socially and environmentally sustainable, customer-centred products and services by assessing, co-creating, and transforming traditional business models.

With this mission, the inspiration for the company name came from Philips Design’s four future scenarios. One of them is Habitania. Habitania captures the creation of sustainable futures for humanity and habitats, enabling an acceptable standard of living and protecting biodiversity while reinventing harmful practices, implementing innovative technologies, mindful design and ecosystem business collaborations.

“With Nordic Circular Partners, we can have an impact that an individual company can not,” says Helena Sustar,
Founder and Sustainability Consultant at Habitania Institute. What can her team help you with? Habitania Institute’s expert team offers sustainability reporting, material assessments, supporting services such as carbon counting, capacity building through webinars and training and individual coaching for your company.

Why is sustainability reporting key for SMEs? Currently, SMEs are not obligated to report on their ESG from the EU Green Deal (EU Taxonomy). The reality shows that the ESG reporting requirements impact SME’s stakeholders (investors, banks, and customers), who are already dropping these requirements to SMEs. By 2026, listed small and medium enterprises (LMEs) will be required to start with sustainability reporting. SMEs will have a separate and simplified reporting standard to lower their threshold to begin reporting.

We are very glad to add Habitania Institute to the Nordic Circular Hotspot Partnership Programme and explore further collaboration opportunities! Would you like to connect with Habitania Institute? Don’t hesitate to contact us or drop a message through their website.
